Guest guest
In recent events and many hospital visits, it was discovered that I have a severe case of chiari 1. When I told my children and my parents, my family was stunned. NOT knowing or EVER hearing anything of this disorder in the past, we all did our share of research. Upon our findings, we had become extremely startled with what we found. I am a 36 year old mother of 5. I have dealt with and faced some unknown health issues over the last fifteen years. Upon the last emergency room visit, I was given a CAT. The ED Dr. had come to me with concern. Not quite knowing how to approach me with the diagnosis that he saw, he referred me to a neurosurgeon. I was stunned. Afraid and un aware of what I was facing, I went to one doctor after another until I was finally told about my condition. The final Doctor that I have seen was one that was referred to me by several other doctor's. Upon my visit to his office, I was clearly nervous and afraid. I had awaited for this answer for a very long time, and I now know why I dealt with such anticipation. Dr Oro' of Aurora Medical Center, in Aurora,Colorado is one of the countries TOP renoun Chiari Dr's. I am lucky to have found him. With the questions that I have, and the symptoms that I suffer from, I know that I am NO LONGER alone. However, I have NOT yet chosen to have any sort of operation, I am skeptical and VERY AFRAID. I was told that my symptoms WILL continue to get worse if I do not resolve the issues at hand. But the fear of what may happen, and what might NOT happen are constant on my mind. Does any one have ANY hope for me???
