Guest guest
A lot of people take L-glutamine mixed in with their protein drink. Because l-glutamine is an amino acid, would it not be best to take it on an empty stomach only?
Guest guest
I mix 15 grams of L-glutamine, 5 grams of creatine, 40 grams of protein, and 28 grams of carbos as a post workout drink ... tastes pretty good with the flavors I use. Thanks, Mark Mixability of L-Glutamine Just want to offer my opinion on the mixability of l-glutamine, based on my own experience - Jarrow is definitely the best! I usually mix my glutamine powder with orange juice, although I have mixed it with other things. Over the past four years I have tried several brands including OSMO, NOW, MRM, Cambridge Nutraceuticals. I recently purchased one kilo of the Jarrow brand from the Boston Buyer's Club. It is very white and very light. It seems to be fluffier than the other brands. It stirs into liquids very well! After I stir it into my OJ it doesn't settle to the bottom as much as the other brands. NOTE - This review is only intended as a commentary on the look, texture, and mixability of L-Glutamine. I realize that the most important thing is potency and purity, but I'm not a chemist so I can't comment on that. They all claim to be 100% pure -- and I hope they are. As a maintenance dose, I think about 5 grams a day is enough. That will help enterocyte turnover and intestinal function (particularly by helping the hair-like villi from becoming stunted, thus allowing improved nutrient absorption). Higher doses, 20-40 grams, may help to offset PI-induced diarrhea (of course, always assure an accurate diagnosis for diarrhea). There are some data to support this in regard to nelfinavir-related diarrhea. M.
