DMSO & itching

Back when I first used DMSO in my eyedrops and got such spectacular results,

one problem I did have immediately was more itching. At the time I thought

it was from dying pathogens and Garnet thought it might be a histaminic

response. Both may have been true, but eventually the itching stopped and I

have not had an itch since when I use my eyedrops.

A couple of weeks ago I began to get an itch in the crease of my left groin

and I assumed it was fungal as usual. Eventually I poured some of my

eyedrops into my hand and rubbed the area with it. The immediately effect

was that the itch stopped for about a day then came back with a vengeance in

a day or so. More saline/iodine/DMSO caused even more itching, until all

itching finally stopped.

Now I think I may know what was the cause of more itching in both cases:

Aldehydes from dying fungi. I've read about this before and had forgotten

it. Aldehydes are very toxic to us and are released by dying fungi possibly

as a defense mechanism.

So if you use DMSO or any other preparation with DMSO in it, and you get

more itching, it may be the sign that what you're doing is really working.
