If I don't post this while I'm thinking about it, hec, I'll forget.

One thing I have had a lot of difficulty with is my head wanting to

tilt downwards and I noticed not long ago even my shoulders were

trying to slump forwards slightly. We all understand how weak your

neck muscles are after these surgeries, so this would come as no

surprise.

I have found it very difficult to constantly remember to hold my head

up and back, becomes very exhausting and painful. I tried wearing

the Aspen Collar, but I was fitted for it prior to my surgeries and

so it no longer fits correctly and when I would wear it, oh, it would

be very painful and intensify my headaches. So, I contacted TCI docs

and they prescribed a CTO jaket. I now have it and have worn

it some, but it does take some getting used to and will be having it

re-adjusted in a couple of days. I like the CTO jacket and

have faith it'll really help to correct the neck/head positioning

problem once it is adjusted. Plus, I'm going to have the Aspen

collar re-adjusted.

And I'm hoping to try PT again within a month and will work on core

strengthing exercises (per Dr. B) and see how it goes this time.

I hope by my posting my story in segments and no one post being

extrememly long, it is making it easier for you all to read about my

experience and post op recovery as you feel up to it and then pick up

where you left off.
