I usually don't wheeze, I slightly cough like a tickle but most of my symptoms are either inflammation or the tigthness in my chest where I am short of breath. Although, in my sleep I dreamt I was wheezing and when I woke up I was in a mini asthma attack.

PICC Lines - wheezing

Hi all! Congratulations to me. I have broken out of jail. They have left the Picc line in my arm for the next two weeks just in case I have to readmit. The hospital floor doc wasn't too happy with my air flow. I have a picc line inserted every time I admit because the steroids seem to have fried my veins, but I have never come home with one. Have any of you? Any tips? I understand that there is a fairly high risk of infection. They told me no showers. Only assisted tub baths. Also, is there anyone else here who doesn't wheeze? I will bark/cough, but in the past year I have only been told that I had a wheeze once. That was at my last admit after the one hour (20mg) albuterol thingy plus 6 more treatments of iptatroprium. I don't know if I just don't move enough air to wheeze or what. I have had a whole troop of people listening to me for the last several days, and I keep getting looked at funny

because they don't hear a wheeze. I have read before that not all asthmatics wheeze, but I keep getting these wierd reactions. Just wondering if I am the lone ranger with this.

Hi Madelin,

Do glad to hear your out of " jail "

18 month ago when I had MRSA, hospital for 12 days and 9 surgeries, I came

home with a picc line (a double one) and they left it for about 6 more days,

I didn't have any problems, but I was on so much antibiotics I'm not sure

anything would have gotten to me.

I do wheeze but very little and not very loud.
