Hi! I am new to the group. We have an 18 month old son who was

recently diagnosed with CM1. He also has hypotonia. Since he is so

young, we can't be 100% sure of his symptoms. He does gag on his food

when he is eating and we are suspicious of headaches b/c he can be

very irritable...nothing will soothe him, except Tylenol. In

addition, he has motor delay (not walking at 18 mos) and severe speech

delay (not babbling ma ma, or da da). We are curious if the motor and

speech delay is common with CM1. Our little guy is rcving speech

therpay, OT, and PT every week. We also have him in swim therapy to

help strengthen the muscles (hypotonia).

Has anyone heard of a link b/w speech, motor delay and CM1? Did you

do the decompression surgery for your child? Did it help?

Thanks in advance for your help. Glad to have a support group to help

us thru this difficult time.

Liz
