Guest guest
Just a note to update everyone on my decompression surgery done on Feb 19 by Dr. Oro. Dr. Oro did not cut into the Dura. He did weaken an area of the dura with the idea it will bulge. He removed bone and placed a plate as well as filing down the C1. The first week I stayed on Flexeril and Oxycodone. After the first week, I took Tylenal when I felt I needed it and continued on the Flexeril. After the second week, I didn't need anything, other than an occasional Flexeril when I did too much. I have now been released to return to work. I still have some numbness on the left side of my head, and have some pulling in the left side of the skull when I turn my head to the right. Each day I am able to turn my head farther to the right with less pulling in the skull. Each day the numbness on the left side of the skull is less. I still get fatigued, but I'm able to do more each day. I NO LONGER HAVE CHIARI HEADACHES! I do still have the " rushing " sound in my ears, but it is not as evident. Dr. Oro is wonderful. My hospital stay was fine. The hospital is in the middle of expanding, so things are a bit confusing, and the rooms on the ward are semi-private. I was unluckly enough to get a difficult roommate, but it was only for a day. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I was discharged Friday morning. I could have probably been discharged on Thursday night. My family and I have been impressed with Dr Oro. I'm very pleased with the results so far. Wishing you all a pain free day. Nancey
