Guest guest
, If I am reading this right, you had your decompression 3 months ago. You might still be healing up from the surgery. I was told not to make comparisons about pre- and post- op life until I was a year post-op. There is a lot of swelling and healing going on that you cannot see. And the body is having to adjust to new pathways and structures. It is not a fast recovery nor is it linear. What feels good to do today might be miserable tomorrow, then fine again next week. I went back to work, half-time at 3 months post-op and it was a mistake. My symptoms were as bad as before surgery, but I see now that I was still healing. Over time, when I stopped pushing myself and rested more, I started feeling the benefits. I was 6 months post op before felt my first 'new normal' but every few months, I had a better, new normal. It was 2 years before it leveled out. Even now, 5 years post-op, I rest my head every chance I get to prevent symptoms like dizziness and headaches, which I still get sometimes. BTW, I agree with you about some docs not looking at old films. Some are just not inquisitive. I think it's a personality thing, not a doctor thing. I have a couple of doctors who are very inquisitive. They appreciate the research I bring with me, they like that I am well informed, and they are interested in my old films. But, I have a few others that are not inquisitive and could care less. Hanna --- wrote: > They are playing with my health. Guest guest
Believe me when I say that we have all mostly gone through docs telling us we are nuts. It is AWFUL. I gave up dealing with ANY local docs and went to the experts, where I had my surgery. Hanna is right, it took me two years to recover as well. 3 months is NOTHING. I'm sorry that isn't great news, but you need to be resting most of the time at this point, in my humble opinion, if you are feeling terrible. I agree that you need to get more answers too. I couldn't go back to work for well over six months and even then it was pretty bad, I just had not choice. Much love to you! > > --- wrote: > > > They are playing with my health.
