Autism & Fertility Drugs

I was asked recently by a friend of my mom's who also has a autistic

child if we ever thought " is there a correlation between fertility

drugs used and autism. " Jay had that thought cross his mind a long

time ago and we just dismissed it and figured that it couldn't be

that at all. My mother's friend has one NT older child and then for

the second had problems getting pregnant and used fertility drugs.

The second child was dxd with autism. When she approached some of

her friends with autisitic child she asked them and almost all of

them too used fertility drugs.

I know they say that autism has increased and so has the fact that

many woman are waiting until there 30's to start there families and

many of them are using fertility drugs. I thought this a interesting

question due to the fact that I too used infertility drugs for both

of my pregnancies and have 2 children with language disorders. I

just thought I would pose the question to you and see have any

studies been done on this that you know of? My mothers friend just

found it to be a coincidence that at a time when more people are on

hormones and fertility drugs that the rise in autism has also come.

What do you guys think? I was curious after being asked the question

myself and having no answer.
