Do I need to see an expert?

In November I had a bad virus, followed by tingling in my hands and

feet. I was soon diagnosed with a herniated cervical disk, a bulge,

and stenosis. The tingling went away in January and was replaced by

muscle/nerve pain in all four limbs. A local NS who operates on

Chiari wanted me evaluated as he thought my tonsils looked low in

the cervical MRI. They found that I have low-lying tonsils without

herniation or abnormalities. They did find a decreased CSF flow in

the 4th ventricle area. I pressed my NS on this and he said I was

probably just a variation of normal.

I am going to PT for the herniated disk and my symptoms are a little

better. However, I am concerned about the flow issue. I sent my

materials to Dr. Oro and he said he would see me. I was also

thinking of going to TCI as they are closer. Both trips would be

somewhat costly and obviously time-consuming (not a factor if

necessary).

I'm just wondering if you think I absolutely need to see a true

specialist at this point? Would you just see a local NS well-versed

in chiari (I have one about 2 hours away). I'm praying that my

symptoms are just from the herniated disk and myofascial pain. If

that's the case, will even the experts know? Thanks so much for your

thoughts!
