Guest guest
What I got is a letter which summarizes the test results by giving a score/age equivalent in each area. I was told by my caseworker (overseeing the Beckett application) that I need a copy of the evaluation, not just a letter. --- michellewinkles@... wrote: > Hey , > > Parents ARE entitled to the REPORT--but not the > test! Guest guest
I've listened to this long enough and I have something to say. I assumed the parent WAS talking about the evaluation report and I think you know that. I mean, the test wouldn't do much good with out the results would it? I just got a 24 page evaluation report from my child's school. His evaluation was carried out over a 20 day period. If the parent didn't get something similar and only recevied a letter, then that sounds like laziness and incompetence to me. She deserves a thorough evaluation REPORT and you know it. I don't know why you freaked out over what I said. I may be wrong but I'm not even sure anybody asked about the " actual test. " I think you knew as well as her school psych knew and the case worker knew EXACTLY what she was talking about. I know this attitude quite well and I'm sick to death of it. She hasn't got time to be harassed about this and neither does her child. We're parents. Most of us have never had to deal with a bunch of anal-retentive government employees hung up on semantics and wouldn't if we had any choice. We aren't all in the " business " and maybe we don't have the exact terminology down pat yet, but we're not stupid either so please stop acting like we are. Not just you, but everybody like you. Would it kill you people to act like human beings once in a while? Sissi nitetrax@... We're all assumed to be dishonest, trying to get something for nothing suspects. I cannot imagine that anyone would WANT their child to " pass " a test for autism! Could I get a side order of bipolar disorder to go with that please? How about just plain old schizophrenia -- hold the pickles. Sissi nitetrax@... Guest guest
You know what? I apologize for attacking you. I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at the world. Maybe this feeble explanation will help you to understand why I'm so damned angry. Here's a letter I posted to another list: >>> Nothing was mentioned NOT ONE WORD was mentioned about restraints at Boone's IEP. I was told how " good " Boone is for the teacher and how he NEVER runs away from her. She actually tried to make me feel bad that Boone behaved better for her than for me. I was told the only punishment was a blue time out chair and Boone was only in it once. Then I read this: http://home.isoa.net/~nitetrax/untitled.htm Maybe I'm overreacting. maybe " needs restraint " doesn't mean -- needs restraint. Maybe I'm wrong about this. Sully, can you can explain this to me? Can ANYONE explain why these people continue to FLAT OUT LIE TO MY FACE? I signed the cover sheet for this IEP. I was not told about this or shown this report. It arrived in the mail today. Nobody has ever mentioned this. I was lied to about this. I HATE THAT! I was under the impression that Boone sprouted wings and a halo when he got to school. Now I find out on page nine of a 24 page report that Boone " needs restraint. " I know that Boone will run away. I know that Boone will not do as he is told. I understand that it may be a problem getting him to stay where he is told. I will gladly drive him to school if this is a problem. Am I overreacting? Am I wrong? Those of you with some experience, can you explain this to me? At least now I know why he doesn't want to go to school anymore when he loved it before. I feel sick.<<< Sissi nitetrax@...
