I think what you are describing is compression of your jugular veins to increase

your ICP. It tests patency of your sub-arachnoid space.

The beginning of this article describes the test I think you are talking about

What Does It Mean When Dr. Puts

Pressure On Neck and Head Pressure Rises?

Hi Group!

Hope you all are having a good day today. The weather is so nice here in Utah.

The sun is shining and it's supposed to get up to the mid to upper 60's. Such a

nice change to all the cold and snow we've had.

When we were in NY to see Dr. Kula during the Neuro exam he put his hands around

my neck. You know like people do when they want to strangle someone? Only it

wasn't that tight. The pressure in my head went up.

What does that all mean? Was that what he was looking for?

Thanks for any help or insight into this you can give.

Take Care,

Regina
