I went to see my Neurologist yesterday and I got a " real answer " , for me at least. The bottom number on my blood pressure was very high yesterday, despite meds that should make it chronically low. This is something that happens to me when I am in a lot of pain...and I'm at max dose and that really limited the options...so we decided to try an Occipital Nerve Block of 5 injections over one entire side of my skull. There is some risk and it definitely had some initial side effects, but it was a huge relief from a chunk of my pain almost instantly. This morning my blood pressure is back to normal, a lot of the " brainfog " is gone, AND I had NO blurry vision this morning! It wasn't the answer to all my problems, and nobody knows how long it will last, but right now I'm just happy that it worked. From what I gather, the head injury that got my chiari/SM diagnosed also smooshed my occipital nerve (both sides?), my mild chiari is also constricting it (both sides), and the " wing " on C2 vertabra is chronically " tipped " and keeping the nerve smooshed, and very inflamed on the right side, so we did the nerve block over there to see if it would work for me. It definitely worked. It was very nice to get some sleep last night. And it was such a delight to wake up this morning with my vision clear again. My blurry vision was due to " Occipital Neuralgia " . Rozanne
