Guest guest
My oldest daughter had her first MRI say this: There is a 4 to 5mm herniation of the hindbrain, but no sign of a chiari malformation. I told her that if she had a herniation of the hindbrain she had chiari and we went from there. We finally ended up in NY (of course) and by the time the decompression was said and done, it came out that her herniation was 8mm on the right and 12 on the left. Now bad enough that the radiologist didn't know his azz from a hole in the ground, but everyone, even the doctors out there, need to keep in mind that an MRI only can give an approximation, it isn't until one gets in there that the actual herniation is known.
