Re: Non-verbal - any suggestions?

my son has been on valtrex for 7yrs, treating hhv6 that caused hyperfusion to the hypothalmus/front left lobe of his brain. We have neuro spect scans that document the reduced blood flow to this region of the brain. The hhv6 virus at onset of autism actually caused restricted blood flow to these areas, thus speech and other areas (socialization) of development were negatively impacted. not saying this to scare you, certainly there are children that are not so severely impacted and do not have hhv6, but the point is that the valtrex will improve the blood flow to the brain.I think Stan has this noted in his video presentation where he lists Dr Goldberg's spect scans. when we see speech negatively impacted for example in stroke survivors its because the left side of the brain was impacted by the stroke, and the right brain has become dominant. If your child is non-verbal it is because he is right brain

domininant. a therapy to stregthen processing of the left brain that you may want to look at is called the "Rapid Prompting Method" through the HALO. The woman who invented this therapy has a non-verbal son, but in using this method she was able to help him switch on the left side of the brain. He is still non-verbal but her son is a genius, he has written several novels, and attends a private school and is in regular classes. check out the HALO Rapid Prompting Method website. Soma has uploaded clips of her work with different kids and you can see the progress they have made. catsamsmom032003 wrote: My 3.5 year old autistic son is completely non-verbal. We are on the Valtrex/ Diflucan protocol, CLO, Zinc, Magnesium Sulfate, multi-vitamin, PhosChol, 2 different kinds of probiotics, and MB-12 with folinic nasal spray. While eye contact, appropriate play and imitation skills have definitely improved (we still have a ways to go), his speech is still missing. By the way, we never saw any fevers or other symptoms that the Valtrex was "working", just steady improvement in several areas. The only rashes we have seen were very light "dotted-looking" rashes that still seems to come and go around his groin. He jabbers incoherantly quite a bit, and has no apparent oral motor problems. He receives speech, OT and PT as well as several hours

of individual ABA therapy each week. We tried the GF/CF diet for 6 months, with little improvement, and we saw absolutely no regression of any kind when we took him off the diet. He has never had any toubles with his bowels, before or after the diet. I feel like maybe our next step should be chelation? Is anyone else doing chelation along with Valtrex? Any other suggestions or advice from anyone else who has had success with a non-verbal child? I really appreciate your input - Thanks! __________________________________________________

Kristy, I amight get this for our 5 yr old non-verbal son too. The website says you need the advice of a physician to give to kids. Is that what you did? How did you determine the 3 drops/day dosage Any side effecets ? How long before your son started talking? Thanks Kristy wrote: I think www.waiora.com Google Natural cellular defense by Waiora and see what you get.

Is the Natural Cellular Defense chelation? Is it safe give to our child ourselves, without consulting a doctor?

We have been doing Valtrex + DMPS chelation for almost 10 months (chelation for 12 months). is thriving and chelation has really helped his fine motor skills.
