Guest guest
HI All, No sleep here as its 1 am here. lol.. I have tried many sleeping pills prescribed by the neurologist after a sleep study. the only thing found on my study was delayed REM cycle sleep. It takes me till early morning to get into a deep sleep. I can take any sleeping pill and still be up till 2 or 3 and then cant wake up in the mornings. and then may still need a nap during the day. I have even tried no nap thinking to much sleep then I'm just overly tired and still cant sleep??? Its really strange. Three different sleeping pills and all the same result. KNOW I cant get them to change them I dont think they believe me any more. lol Go figure that one.. any way good luck to every one to get a good nights sleep. Guest guest
Well, I finally got my Sleep Test results back yesterday. I had gone through a Sleep Study way back in October but just haven't been back to see my GP since then. I'm trying to take more control of my own health problems instead of always looking to a Doctor for answers because they generally only give me a confused puzzled look for their answer. I've had problems with insomnia for at least 12 years now. Constant insomnia... I can't sleep without sleeping pills and with sleeping pills I can only sleep sometimes. I'm currently taking 1mg of Clonazepam and 5mg of Imovane every night before bed. That has been my nightly cocktail now for a few years while Clonazepam has been part of my cocktail for at least a decade. This just kind of made me laugh... the Sleep Study report that my GP was sent was a good dozen pages or so in length. I had at first asked him for a copy of it and then he showed it to me.. the thickness of the pages... and he said that it's all in medical jargon and it just goes on and on and on. That even he found it tedious to get through haha... According to that report I am suffering from chronic and persistent insomnia... meaning that I have difficulty falling asleep... but that once I fall asleep I show signs of over a dozen different sleeping disorders. The good news is that none of them are life threatening (for example, sleep apnea). My GP said that part of it is that I kind of sleep in waves... like how a normal person is supposed to sleep... Stage 2, 3, 4, etc. but that I don't follow any set pattern on that. I might go from Stage 2 to Stage 3 and then from Stage 3 back to Stage 2 then deeper into Stage 4 and then maybe back to Stage 1, etc. That I am always in the middle of either falling asleep or waking up... and that according to the specialists I really shouldn't be able to sleep at all. My GP said that from just reading that report... without knowing about my ACM or my SM... that just from that report he would label me as disabled. A normal person requires a certain amount of sleep to function and according to " Sleep Specialists " my body is not capable of falling asleep. What did I learn from this? That I'm sleeping a H**l of a lot more then the Doctors are expecting me to. Time to be thankful for that alone. Mike
Guest guest
Thanks for posting this, I really should get a sleep study done...because of the irregular sleep patterns I have. Can you share more what the sleep study is like for those of us that have never had one? Thanks! Kathymichelle ---- Cushing wrote: > Well, I finally got my Sleep Test results back yesterday.
