Guest guest
Hi Char, i can't remember if I responded to this ir not. If so, sorry for the duplication. I lived for 2 1/2 years just outside of s, SC, about 40 miles south of Greenville, SC. When I moved there from Alaska, my asthma wa minimal, cropping up 1-2 times per decade. By the time I left, the steroids had damaged my vision, I was on nebulizers 3-4 times per day and had a handfull of pills to choke down daily and at least 4 trips to the ER in 2 months. My pulmonologist suggested that since i did not have these problems in AK and since i was leaving SC, then AK might be the place to go to. I am now back in Alaska and sadly brought the asthma with me. To answer your questions, i had symptoms year-round. If anything, I did better in the summer, even witht he high humidity. It seems i did a bit worse in the winter months. Since I was there jsut a very short time, i may not be a good source. I believe we have a few people from Georgia who migh be able to help out more. Well, The humid and hot didn't bother me much during the summer, just winter so I'm hoping i'll be okay. I went to the VA urgent care and they gave me antibiotics for a sinus infection and hope that the sinuses dripping into the chest will stop the pain in the chest. They also gave me anti inflamitory for the pain in my arm and chest and hoping that will help. I hope they know what they are doing. Char Does anyone live in s.c.? If so, do you have a hard time with asthma there too? Just wondering because we are moving there from Washington State either this summer or next.
