Guest guest
I fell over a wooden rail road tie on the school playground where I work on Friday. Unfortunitely I fractured the tibia bone of my right leg. Thank Heavens I was able to safe guard my head, neck and spine by thinking fast while I was falling and put my arms out to prevent my head from hitting the concrete. This was a freak accident and the first time that I had broken a bone. My point here is that we have to very careful and become extremely more aware about protecting ourselves if we are ever involved in a seemingly minor accident like this one. All that went through my mind was " not my head, not my head. Addrenaline can work in your favor in a situation like this one. I was taken to the ER after it happened, took x-rays and found that I fractured the tibia bone right above my angle. Interestingly, the ER Dr. told me that having EDS and being double jointed actually worked in my favor and prevented me from having a much more serious break. Thanks for letting me vent.
