Guest guest
Hello -- how many here take B vitamins and which ones? How did you determine what you needed, through blood tests or just trial and error? The OB/Gyn I saw suggested B-6 when I told him about my breast pain that starts as early as 2 weeks before my period for the last few years. It did go away when I took primrose oil 500 mg twice per day but I stopped altogether for a while when I was traveling for months. Now am taking it just once a day because it's mixed with my Vit. D I've cut back on. So trying to figure out if I should add B-6 or just go back to the primrose, maybe take it on its own in the 1300 mg dose. I remember I did have a bad reaction when taking Emergen-C that I thought might have been because of all the B vitamins, so I'm cautious there. Thanks -
Guest guest
, What type of reaction did you get with the Emergen-C? I take Bcomplex. When I was feeling hyper awhile back, it seemed to make me worse, but now it's not bothering me and seems to be helping. I could be wrong about it making the hyper worse, because when I was hyper, I suspected EVERYTHING was contributing to it. I was getting to where I was considering not eating at all, thinking maybe it was something I was eating. I'll tell you, after being hyper, I will take hypo anyday. It was awful. -- In Thyroiditis , " suuzin " wrote: > > Hello -- how many here take B vitamins and which ones? How did you > determine what you needed, through blood tests or just trial and > error? Guest guest
Hi everyone -- thanks for the input. , I think I did get a hyper-like reaction from Emergen-C. I'm trying to remember. I looked at the ingredients in the store and not sure what else it would likely be, though it's possible it wasn't all the Bs. I know Vit. C doesn't do that to me though. For all I know the B's could help my thyroid work better and hence the hyper reaction, but I'd rather not have to play around with that. Probably I will just go back to EPO, BJ. I don't like taking supplements more than once a day (and know I just won't manage it). But I saw they have 1300 mg EPO now, so I'll probably upgrade to that. As far as Vit. D goes, I have no idea where my D levels are. Colleen, my doc wanted me on Vit. D--even living in sunny California my levels were low. He said the risks and chances of overdosing are exaggerated--but I read later it's important to take it with calcium. Now I'm just taking a lower dose with calcium once per day. > > > > Hello -- how many here take B vitamins and which ones? Guest guest
I love your discrpition of sunbaking nude for 2 hours. Excellent! Re: Vitamin B/C interaction.. I dont know if this has been published. I obtained this piece of wisdom from a healer (scientific and traditional) of profound ability. Let me know if you need a referene. Cheers Colleen Re: B vitamins Hi Colleen,Just a couple comments,I would sure like to know where you got your info on not taking B vitamins with Vit C. I have never seen any research that indicated that. If you have any reliable info I'd love to see it.As for Vit D, I need to take it as I am low and can't go out in the sun - it's winter here and the sun comes through the foggy skies very rarely - in the summer I'd have to sit naked for two hours twice a day to get what my body needs. I can't stay out in full clothing for any amount of time either because my skin is so fair. The sun won't help unless it shines on exposed skin. I really don't think you realize how many people are deficient in Vit D and have similar problems. I get it the best way I can and that's via a Vit D3 supplement.Bj> > >> > > Hello -- how many here take B vitamins and which ones? Guest guest
I was recently at the doctor for a sinus infection & it wasn't a doctor that I have seen before. We were talking a little about my Hashi's and he said that EVERYONE with thyroid disease should be taking calcium (he said don't take it with meds). He also said that most people in Northern California are vitamin D deficient and should take a supplement. He said even in Nor Cal we don't get enough sunlight! Miaja** > my doc wanted me on Vit.
