Guest guest
Good early morning everyone! I'm sorry it's been a few days since I've been online. I've had a rough couple of weeks. I heard from a very good friend of mine last week and her mother has been diagnosed with chiari. I'm not sure how old she is, I believe she's in her 50's. A little background on her, over the past year, her doc has diagnosed her with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, then diagnosed her with an inner ear disorder and it was the ear, nose, and throat doc who sent her for an MRI and found the chiari. She's lost as a baseball bat in tall weeds in Iowa right now as far as chiari, so I'm really trying to help her out. Unfortunately, I don't have some of the same symtoms she is having, I have a lot of them, just a few I don't. Her symptoms are: Insomnia, feels like she has bad arthritis, I'm guessing that's the tingling in her extremities. She has days that she is sore to the touch, and generally sick to her stomach, vision problems where people have distorted faces, and people on tv with no faces, sound of a washing machine in her ears that goes to the beat of her heart, drop attacks to where she can't remember anything while it goes on, stagering from wall to wall, heart racing, pulse racing, tired all the time, she gets the jerks and twitches in her extremeties, she doesn't have the constant headaches, yet has occassional head pain with what she describes as bolts of pain. I haven't had the chance to talk to her further on her symptoms to get her to elaborate on them, but I'm curious to know. She has her first neurolist appt coming up soon and she has asked me to come up with a list of ?'s to ask her nl and ns, so I'm asking for your help with this. I've never dealt with the drop attaccks really, so I don't know what to ask about that. She's goign to be seeing one of the local surgeons here which is comparable to going to an " ego " clinic. Questioning these dr's here about things like tethered cord or something like that is going to get her laughed out of the room, because in the surgeons eyes, he'll take a little bit of bone out and she'll be fine. I'm getting her as informed as I can, hopefully she'll be joining our group withing the next day or two, I don't knwo....I just need ur help coming up with some questions for a first timer going to see a neurologist and a neurosurgeon. Also, any of you that have ever experience drop attacks, been diagnosed with lupus, FM, or any of these other symptoms, can you email me privately please? I'd like to get this gal as much help as I can. Thanks! All my love and prayers! Miranda in Springfield, MO
