Guest guest
My first neurosurgery was a success, mostly in part to doc recommendations and research, knowing my stuff when I walked in the door, etc. I took a list of symptoms and even though he was coming from one emergency brain surgery and heading into another after my appointment (which was rushed but still about 30 mins long). He did a more thorough exam than the neurologist I saw, then told me that surgery would very likely help me. My herniation is small, but he said they see people that have small chiaris with lots of life-effecting symptoms. It's so strange to have finally heard that I'm heading for surgery. We're going to get opinions from TCI and possibly also Dr. Rosner before I do anything - it's my brain for pete's sake, I'm not going by what one person says, even if I think they're right! Still... brain surgery. I guess I didn't really believe it until he said it. And now I have to go for another MRI and wait six weeks to get in to talk surgical options with him. He's the best - a very busy pedi ns at children's so it's not like he's golfing while I'm waiting, you know? It's hard to wait though.
