Guest guest
I am excited and nervous to ben granted the opportunity to consult with Dr Ellenbogen in Seattle. I was decompressed in Jan 2000 but have had numerous complications, immediately after my surgery I had MRSA staph infection, meningitis and hydrocephalus which has caused me to have arachnoid cysts all up and down the lengh of my spine. In May 2005 I had a large cyst drained and also a fusion of L4-L5 which immediately slipped following a flexion/extension xray (spondylolythesis) In the last 8 years I have gone from walking with difficulty unassisted to being full-time in a power wheelchair and unable to get into or out of bed or onto the toilet. I have been told my condition is progressive and I fear where it will progress to. Lately it has begun affecting my hands. Even typing, as I am doing now is much slower, I used to type for a living, approx 100 wpm, now its much slower. Typing sure beats my handwriting which has totally gone to the dogs. My question now--I know Dr Ellenbogen is highly recommended but I would appreciate any feedback you could give me, eith on the list or privately. Any extra information I should bring along with me. Words of encouragement or courage? Some sanity? Thanks in advance. from Montana
