Guest guest
Arletha, I hope you have a good neurologist. Jerking movements, called dyskenesia, can be caused by getting too much Parkinsons medications. Of course, too little can leave Ronnie unable to walk. The medications are such a fine balancing act, and you really need a neurologist who is familiar with LBD and who understand the drug interactions. I know from experience that not all neurologists have the knowledge to correctly medicate for LBD. Did you say that Ronnie is in Florida? I can't remember. Maybe someone on this board can help you locate a really good doctor.
Guest guest
Arletha My dad seems to struggle with depression also. He has been very angry with it, but mostly he cries. Apparently when he is having a good day, and I am not there he laughs and smiles. When I show up, he will cry. I guess I bring out the feeling that he is lost in this disease. Sometimes lately he hasn't cried as much, but my last visit with him he cried half the time......makes my heart ache for him. Maybe there is another med. that would help Ronnie better. Even the simple ones like Paxil or Zoloft. Dad isn't on either of these as yet, but I have thought about trying one with him. He takes Zyprexa which is an anti-depressant and it may help, but when I show up......down flows the tears. Hang in there!!!! Keep asking questions in here and venting as often as you need. By the way, where do you and Ronnie live? People in this group are located all over the US, and some in Canada and the UK, so there could be help or resources near you from people in here. Take care of yourself! Sandie Des Moines, IA
