Guest guest
Hi there , Yes, the time lines for appointments sound normal. Also, the booking for the NSG sounds like to me, that they are unsure who will be on staff that week due to vacations, leaves... Congrats on getting the appointment! Recommendations? do what you are doing. Ask if there is any thing that you can do now, and what time-line you should follow in regards to making this appt/testing work, in regards to authorizations, referral letter... All the best! Kathymichelle > > I knew it took a long time, but I just spoke to today. > The first new-patient appointment was not until August 5th. She asked if that would work for us. Yeah, sure. LOL. Like I was really going to say that it wouldn't work?!?! > > So, anyway, we have a day of testing on the 4th. She said she could not give me the scheduling for it until probably about a month prior to the appointment. Does that sound right? We do have her schedule for TCI on the 5th. > > Tasha will meet with the Nurse Prac at 10am for a full history and physical, then have her neurology consult with Dr. Kula (scheduled at 1pm, but may be a later depending on his day), and then will have her neurosurgery consult at 6pm. Here again, she said she could not tell me which NS because it would depend on who was available. That sounded kind of strange to me, but okay. Whatever. > > At least we have our appointment date. > > So, then, I immediately called the doctor's office to give them the news so that they could start getting Tasha's pre-authorization for travel only to be told that the authorizer would not even want to talk to them until that month's coupons had been issued. I told the woman, her appointments are the 4th and 5th, I DON'T think you want to wait until the first of August!!! In any case, Tasha's normal doctor and nurse are out of the office until May 6th. I will wait and talk to them I guess. > > I told Tasha I guess we need to invest in a lot of shorts and tank tops. LOL. New York in August!!! We live in Juneau, Alaska, where 70 degrees is blistering hot during the middle of summer. But, nothing is going to stop this appointment. WE ARE GOING!!! > > Yeah!!! > I just thought I would pass along the good news. > Hope everyone is having as a pain free day as possible. > > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
