Guest guest
, Both DH and I used to get frequent sinus infections, but no more. We used a lot of supplements, though. Beta Glucan Thymus Grapefruit seed extract Echinacea/goldenseal zinc We take all this several times/day (zinc is 15 mg 2x/day) But the catalyst that makes it all work are taking enzymes between meals (away from food) which breaks down and clears the mucous and stops the sinus inflammation. We also irrigate the sinuses 3x/day with water, salt, baking soda, and xylitol. Works every time. > > Figured this is a good time a year to start a thread on this topic. > I'm fighting my 3rd or 4th cold since arriving to New York in August! > The subway germs are killing me. > > Since we thyroidians are prohibited from using almost all over the > counter cold medicines (yes, if you didn't know, read the back of > almost any medicine in your drug store), what do you use? Guest guest
Thanks, ! I personally wouldn't take GSE again as I had a very bad reaction to that. I just avoid milk and do all the traditional things (soups, vitamins, rest)... and last night the vaporizer sure helped a lot. I have done the sinus irrigation but just used salt--will keep your mixture in mind. > > > > Figured this is a good time a year to start a thread on this topic. > > I'm fighting my 3rd or 4th cold since arriving to New York in August! > > The subway germs are killing me. > > > > Since we thyroidians are prohibited from using almost all over the > > counter cold medicines (yes, if you didn't know, read the back of > > almost any medicine in your drug store), what do you use?
