Oh my, Darlene! If you don't think you'll ever be sharing macrobiotics, macrobiotic food , or your experiences of cookware with newbies, I would say, get a Silit Sicomatic !Otherwise, a good pressure cooker like the Aeternum or Lagostina as your first pressure cooker (maybe a tall 7 liter one that you could use to pressure cook your chickpeas or black soybeans after you've broken it in a bit!) could do you just fine! Then after you've used a good pressure cooker for a while, you could get a Silit Pressure Cooker and you would know what you have (and also the difference between the two!).I've never owned a Silit pressure cooker but I would certainly love to have one.In the 30 plus years that I've eaten pressure cooked whole grains and beans, I've used Presto, MagfesaKuhn-Rikon, Lasgostina, and Aeternum and I've been happy with the food cooked in each of them! The primary benefit of cooking in a enamel lined pot is that you can leave the food stored in it for several days without any metallic taste.A big negative of cooking with enamelware is that you have to pay closer attention to your cooking times because if you cook something too long in it, you risk burning the food to the bottom of the pot and that can cause the enamel to crack, thus ruining a perfectly good and expensive cookpot! You Know Who told me today that the Lagostina Brava Pressure Cookers are expected to arrive in a week. Can you eat your boiled brown rice for just a little bit longer?Thank you, very much.the Bruce>> I'm not sure whether to buy a 2.5 or 4.5L.
