Guest guest
Hi everyone I read alot but post very seldom. Had tethered cord release with discetomy at L5/S1 tomorrow will be 3 weeks ago. Muscle spasms are no fun but I am doing well. Hope to go back to work part time in another week. This may have nothing to do with anybody elses problems but I had some of the same things after my posterior fossa decompression and my tethered cord release(almost 3 weeks ago). I have been reading about nausea, vision problems, etc. Thought this might help someone. Do you wear glasses or contact lens? I do and have since 8th grade but before my PFD in September of 07 I noticed if I was wearing my glasses my nausea was not as bad but did not go to my eye Dr. at the time. After surgery it was really bad especially if I tried to wear my contacts so I went to my eye doc and he found my eyes were not moving together. My left eye was slower than my right. My father had this same problem after a stroke. I forget the name of it. Anyway I was given a new pair of glasses with a prism in the lens on the left and everything got so much better: headaches, nausea, balance. It was wonderful. I had to wear them for 3 months then was able to go back to normal as my eyes had stabilized. Didn't think much more about it until after my tethered cord surgery 3 days ago when I wore my contacts when some friends were coming to visit and had a horrible headache, nausea, and just yuk feeling afterwards and for another day . Then thought about my eyes. But my glasses with prism back on and for the last 2 days have been wonderful again. I fully believe swelling, pressure, anesthesia, something like my eye doc says puts pressure on the nerve and things go weird and the eye needs help for a while. Do some research and get with an eye doctor. Just a suggestion. I hope to go back to work in another week and can not wait. I will be wearing my glasses(small price to pay to be semi-normal again). in Georgia Thanks Dr. Milhorat, Dr. B, , and You guys are the best!!!!! My life would be a mess without you!!!
