Guest guest
This is quite a personal dilemma but I need to know if I should be concerned. Sorry for the topic... I had my TC surgery on Monday and have had some very serious bowel issues in the past, not being able to have bowel movements for weeks at a time. I have kind of worked things out using colon cleanse, enamas and laxatives so I could go every 3-4 days but always feelin uncomfortable, as if I wasn't done but my bowel was done working. So I was in the hospital monday-friday and on friday was released being told by the wonderful TCI staff that if I could'nt have a bowel movement by the following day, Saturday, that I need to get it done using an enema. During my hospital stay, I was on collace and senekok. When I reurned to the Variety House I took 2 full doses of senekok on Saturday but nothing. I arrived home earlier today and took a double dose of prescription water soluable powder which always works right away. Now at 11:00 tonight, being 2 days over when they told me I had to go, I did an enema. And NOTHING moved. My last bowel movement was on the Thursday prior to surgery so now I'm into my 10th day which is concerning me. I know tomorrow, I need to either contact my PCP, TCI or go to the ER. My husband is questioning if I should go the ER tonight. Has anyone had this experience and offer some advice? What can happen if I let this go too long? I'm pretty sore and being on the computer is not pleasant so I hope anyone that responds will understand if I can't personally respond to your reply. Thanks a bunch!!
