Hello,

I am very pleased to be able to have access to your site. I am a Chiaria 1

and Syringomyelia patient who has no support in Canada for my condition.

my nuerologist seems attentive to needs ,but ,any new symptoms that pop up

,she tells me they are not related to my condition.

April 8th this year I had a small stroke, and Cat Scan showed it was the

second onethat I'd had .I saw a Cardiologist last week who gave me several tests

and came to the conclusion ,he thought Syringomyelia was the cause .My

Nuerologist has also reffered me in the past to two other doctors, who both

agreed ,the problem was Sryingo and Chiari.

I am booked for yet another MRI on my head August 20th,I have had several

,but the last time on my head was six years ago ,they will be looking for any

changes.

The medication I take is Gabapentin,1500mgs per day. I am in pain

constantly ,night is the worse time ,shoulders neck ,left arm and leg,

numbnesson my left .

I look forward to a response from anyone who knows of anyone else who

From the MRI that dx my Chiari there were some small white spots in the brain

matter.  It was said I could have suffered a small stroke in the 6th or 7th

grade.  I had an episode where I did not feel well (sick at my stomach) and then

all of a sudden my left arm went completely numb and then the left leg followed

suit.  They were heavy numb, you know where you cannot move them.  Then as

quickly as it came on, it stopped and they were awake again.  It was pretty

creepy.  I have not had any confirmation and have not really thought about that

in a while.
