Guest guest
The last time I was on prednisone, I got heartburn and reflux so bad I went to a gastro and had an endoscopy. The prilosec helped me but if it's not working for you you can take something stronger such as Nexium. When I am loaded up on meds after a flareup I can get shaky too. Can't say I've had the abdominal fullness because I usually can't eat when I have all this going on, or maybe it's part of the heartburn/reflux problem. > > Good morning everyone! > > As I posted last week, I am 10 days post-hospital, > recovering nicely on the breathing front, but > struggling with the ramp-down on the huge doses of > steroids it took to get me breathing clearly again. > This is the highest dose of prednisone I've ever been > on, and for the longest period, and I'm experiencing > some side effects I've not seen before. Guest guest
Hi , Prednisone can cause nutrient deficiencies. Have you checked into that? Also, have you tried DGL lozenges for the heartburn? Guest guest
When I first got out of the hospital my electrolytes were all off -- sodium low, potassium high. Haven't had them checked in about a week. Am trying to push calcium because I hear that may help with heartburn (which was better last night, actually).sea_girl111 wrote: Hi ,Prednisone can cause nutrient deficiencies.Have you checked into that? Also, have you tried DGL lozenges for the heartburn?Alana>> Good morning everyone!> > As I posted last week, I am 10 days post-hospital,> recovering nicely on the breathing front, but> struggling with the ramp-down on the huge doses of> steroids it took to get me breathing clearly again.> This is the highest dose of prednisone I've ever been> on, and for the longest period, and I'm experiencing> some side effects I've not seen before.
