Guest guest
I haven't had a chance to research the other two, but here is what a representative from the USDA had to say about Syrotab: " I searched Medline/PubMed, the leading database of credible scientific and medical research, and found no research or studies that have been done to test/prove Syrotab nor any of the ingredients listed in the product in are helpful in relation to Syringomyelia. Additionally, from reviewing background information and current research on this disease condition, I do not see that there are such products routinely used for treatment. I'm sorry but we can't provide any information about this product, Syrotab, in terms of safety. I reviewed their website (which it looks like it is product from Scotland ), and did not see any evidence of scientific research studies or other data that would show that it was an effective or safe product. Since it is a propriety blend, I can not say what magnesium murakab or zinc murakab are. I did notice that this same company has two other tablets, for different conditions, yet has exactly the same ingredients. Osteotab http://www.osteotab.com/abouthtml Amylotab http://www.amylotab.com/about_tab.html The US Food and Drug Administration, which responsible for dietary supplements regulation oversight does not review/approve such products before they are sold in the US . The current Federal regulations put the responsibility for safety and effectiveness on the manufacturer of the products. It is then up to the consumer to determine if the product is something they would choose to use. I would encourage you to talk with your personal physician about this product and carefully review the available information/research in order to make an informed decision about whether to use this product or not. " ****************************** I think it's important to remember that simply because something is marketed as being 'all natural' or 'from botanical sources', it's not necessarily safe. Unfortunately, there just isn't a cure for SM. Bottom line: ALWAYS check with your doctor before taking any supplements!
