Guest guest
Lorraine I seem to have incredible success treating this condition! I use a cream made of the following: Althea officinalis (glyceril) Symphytum officinalis Trifolium pratense Commiphora mol-mol Calendula officinalis damascena (water) Styrax benzoin Hempseed oil, Wheatgerm oil, Olive oil and Coconut oil Also I get patients to take 2 tablets daily of Novogen, a concentrated Trifolium, isoflavone tablet of far higher quality than tinctures etc. I may also give tincture of sinensis and Trigonella with this to mix the phyto-oestrogens a bit. I always have supplies of the cream available as several elderly ladies can't seem to get by without it! If you want a jar to try out on your patient e-mail me your mailing address, I'll get some off to you. Stuart Fitz
Guest guest
My physiotherapist also suggested coconut oil...Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerrySender: Date: Sun, 22 Jan 2012 22:46:45 +0000To: < >ReplyTo: Subject: Re: vaginal dryness Just from experience myself she could try olive oil as a lubricant. I discovered the store bought ones weren't helping and were actually making the problem worse. I also discovered I had a latex allergy which explained a lot of issues I had. These might be things to discuss with her. Also if she has any pelvic floor issues it could be causing tightness. She may be misinterpreting this as vaginal dryness. I have a mom nursing her two year old and is ambivalent about weaning but one major factor is painful sex due to vaginal dryness even with lubricants. The more I live and learn it seems so many issues are dietary based. I am researching this myself but is anyone has any helpful information on this please let me know. Many thanks!Leigh Anne O'Connor, IBCLCleighanne625@...www.leighanneoconnor.comwww.mamamilkandme.w!ordpress.com(917) 596-3646
Guest guest
sweet almond oil is also a good choice. the commercial ones are water based; i have never used them. from personal experience over many years of continuous nursing, it helps to apply it to dad too, especially if he is circumcised. Guest guest
My sister makes her own lube - completely natural/edible - for many of the same reasons. I'll try to find her recipe and post. Lea
Guest guest
So, here's the " recipe " just in case someone feels very diy. Water (distilled or boiled) Aloe Vera Gel Guar Gum Grapefruit Seed Extract About 50/50 Water and Aloe (depending on how liquid or gel-like they want it) About 1t Guar gum to each cup of water about 10 drops of GSE to each 8oz of finished lube The only tricky part is dissolving the guar gum You need to dissolve it without excess beating Guar gum is a fiber and the slipperyness is provided by the long fibers. If you whisk it too much, you break the strands and it becomes watery don't worry if there are a few lumps they will dissolve in a day or so and just shake the container to break them up The only liquid GSE that's available these days is GSE dissolved in glycerine, so there lube isn't 100% glycerine free, but she says it is completely not irritating. Oh, and the GSE is optional, and possibly spermato-killing... So if one were TRYING to get pregnant and having a hard time, this is not the best preservative. However, without it, the lube only has about a 3 week shelf live lifeWith it, it has about a 1-2 year shelf life. Apparently it gets fuzzy mold if it expires. > > My sister makes her own lube - completely natural/edible - for many of the same reasons.
