Hi! Pressed barley is the only type of barley (besides hatomugi) that

you can get in Japan. It's so hard to find in the US. It cooks up

very fluffy -- my guess is that it's processed like pearled barley or

like oatmeal...? It appears like it was stamped in some way (hence the

name pressed!)

Has anyone used it? Does it cook differently? Is it horribly

processed or really just pressed? I'm intrigued.

I'm intrigued.me tooI just googled and foundBarley Flakes, Pressed Barley, or Rolled Barley have the appearance of rolled oats and are often included in muesli-type cereals. Since barley flakes are a favorite grain of the Japanese and Koreans, they can often be found at Asian markets as well as health food markets.http://www.vegparadise.com/highestperch410.html

Now, if only I could get them to carry mitoku or oshawa products...Mitoku producs are wonderful - the quality is superb.you know you can order them online at cybermacro.comthere is such a great selectionwe can get some here in australia but not such a selection - yet. Still we have a good variety

I just got a barrel of 10kg of their ume plums and they are so amazing - never seen plums like them - practically golf ball size and the taste!I also like their Kuzu kiri noodles and miso

And wouldn't you know, I wanted hato mugi or even the tea and they didn't have that! (yet more things on my cybermacro list. LOL, , sounds like I'm aiming for that free shipping.)

I have yet to cook up the pressed barley. I was a bit disturbed when I read the warning:

This product packaged at a plant that processes peanuts, wheat and YELLOW DYE

?!?! We avoid all dyes and anything artificial and now I'm afraid I'm just going to have to trash it. I can't take the chance since my older boy is terribly sensitive to dyes :(

Hey and all, a good time to order

new, hint hint, as everything is in stock except dried tofu, the 200 yr old

press used to make that broke, so there has been none for months from Japan.

If you spend $300 or move, you can in most

cases get free shipping on your order like was talking about. I really

enjoy Hato Mugi Barley a lot, and it is liver time for this now! It is more

expensive the Yuuki unrefined variety but it is my favorite kind of it.

Hey! That's wonderful. I was just on a few days ago and the Shitake Dashi concentrate was out and I was disappointed.

Can you tell me about the Shitake Dashi concentrate? Have you used it? It's such an appealing time saver to me but I'm waivering.

Hi ,

I have not used it myself, but you are

right, it would be a nice time saver to make a quick noodles or broth etc. You

probably would not go wrong in trying it.

Thanks Reggie!

Well there is something new up at CyberMacro,

4 downloadable cookbooks by Marque. http://www.simply-natural.biz/ People

seem to be going for the whole set of 4. Anyway she was amazing, I did a 5 day and

intestinal cleanse last week with her supporting me and encouraging me throughout

it. So if any of you are interested in food coaching, you would not go wrong in

working with her! More details on that are there too.

Well the cleanse was pretty interesting as

with having the Candida, I had not had any fruit for months. A major part of the

cleanse was just consuming fruit and vegetable juicers. I probably had enough orange

juice last week as part of that to last a life time. At the end of the cleanse I

definitely feel it made a big difference for myself.

Wow, that's cool. I'm glad you had a good cleansing experience.

I'll look at the downloadables. What a good idea! Also, thanks for

the tip re: food coaching. Will ponder this! Was it expensive? (Not

like that really matters too much when healing is the ultimate and

only goal).
