Guest guest
Hi guys, This is my first posting here, so please excuse if I sound a little new. I was diagnosed with a chiari malformation about 2 weeks ago, only because I've had some really bad headaches, facial numbness, tingling, the whole works. The biggest problem for me (as a big talker, LOL) is that I find myself stuck in mid-sentence a lot, and not being able to grasp the next word Im about to say. Its odd. Anyway, after waiting almost a month to see a surgeon, I was told by him that " yeah, you have a chiari malformation, but I just don't think its bad enough to do surgery. " I have to say that I was completely crushed and floored that he thinks that me being nauseous all the time, not able to eat/sleep, stumbling over words, being numb and tingly isn't a good reason to try surgery. Is this normal? Should I get a second opinion? Im really hoping you guys can help, because I feel really incredibly lost. Thanks!
