Guest guest
Due to the pain, I tend to clamp my jaw a lot. It was causing me headaches and pain in jaw and neck. I had to get a bite plate from my dentist. At first I wore it all the time, to train myself. Now, I only wear it at night when I sleep (and I'm not so aware). This tense jaw and chomping at the bit, (not quite grinding of the teeth but harder just clenching), could cause teeth to move around. And, there are medications that cause less saliva and that causes tooth decay. The med I'm on can cause it for this reason. Also, less saliva causes impaired digestion, etc, and other nutritional issues and that can cause tooth problems and gum problems as well. Gag reflex is a chiari thing. Mine comes and goes, as does the sensitivity in my mouth. I haven't tried it, but would it stop reacting if you did a spray of some of that mouth numbing cloraseptic before tooth brushing? Has anyone any experience with this suggestion? Or would it even work? I don't know, just a thought that came to me. The thing I most dread everyday is brushing my teeth. I have an awful gag reflex and have to go in my mouth with baby steps and rinse in between very often. This started for me after a child birth and always wondered why?
