Guest guest
On Monday,February 18th, 2008, I went for a MRI of my head. By Wednesday (Feb. 20th), I had received a letter from my new primary care doctor. I have been diagnosed as having ACM 1. I am still confused. I am trying to read everything that I can find on this. I am 44. For several years, I have had severe headaches, dizziness, and severe fatigue. And of course, severe pain. And for the last 2- 3 years, I have been slurring my speech. I had already been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in multiple joints (I have undergone several surgeries), fibromyalgia, asthma, and severe year-round allergies. And I was diagnosed with severe esophageal ulcers in December 2007. I just thought that I would have to live with the pain. I visit a pain management doctor every 3 months. I am no longer working. At present time, I am trying to obtain a disability through my employer's disability insurance. I spend my work day in pain (I am unable to take my pain meds during work because they cause drowsiness). Then, I spend my evening trying to get the pain under control before I go to bed. I am just about at my wit's end. I am exhausted and do not sleep very well at night. I am always tired, and always in pain. My new primary care doctor listened to me when I said that I did not feel good. He sent me for the scope of my esophagus and stomach, as well as the MRI. Any suggestions or experiences in dealing with ACM would be greatly appreciated. In one way I am relieved because I now know what is causing my severe headaches and slurred speech. And in another way, I am worried. Tammy
