Guest guest
Hi everyone~ When I was at TCI, Dr Morra had recommended buying an over the door traction device. A pretty inexpensive unit we found on Ebay for under $20. I used it today for about 15 minutes and could feel instant relief from my neck and shoulders. What Dr Mora didn't say is how often or how long to sit with it on for the best results. Does anyone use this and can offer some input? I was told I have cranial settling and will probobly need the fusion surgery. I had TC surgery June 16th so I figured this may be helpful in the meantime. Any advice on this would be helpful. Thanks a bunch!!

Guest guest
One thing that Dr. B recommended to me was to start on a low weight, like maybe 3 lbs and do that for a couple of days and then add weight (water) slowly gaining. One thing to watch out for is " rebound. " Feeling much worse after you take the traction off. I felt awesome for about 45 mins. post traction (I went up to 8 lbs) but then would feel so badly I couldn't get out of bed for 2 days. This is because of the weight of the head compressing nerves again once you are out of the traction device. I stopped using mine because of the rebound, but mine was never rx'd for therapy, but for diagnostic purposes. It served that purpose. Hope all goes well.
