Guest guest
Okay, , give me your direct email details (is it this address at herbmed@... ?) and I will send you and the details. There is one stipulation, which is that the herbalists MUST be trained and qualified in the UK. So, without question, this has nothing to do with the AHG, and in fact, my broker requests that this information is not distributed to the AHG members at this time. The brokerage firm can only handle a small number of accounts at this time (up to 20 practitioners, I believe), which is PART of the reason why this is only to be marketed to practitioners in the US who have been trained in the UK according to UK standards. This provides the assurance of the quality of training (not to sound so 'elite', but that is the other PART of the reason for limiting the coverage to UK trained practitioners. I think you are aware that we really have no standards of herbal education here in the US..it is quite vastly variable, and so the qualifications of AHG members also vary). I am the first to have this coverage, which is a custom policy (hence, the cost), that my broker and I worked on very hard to obtain. He sent my materials worldwide, within the US, Europe, the UK and Asia (yes, even South Korea!). The company is based in the US after all of that. This policy is based on claims, and does exclude the coverage of the use of certain herbs. So, if a claim is made and one of these herbs was used, your claim will be denied. It mainly lists Chinese herbs, but also includes Ephedra and Lobelia (don't know why Lobelia, as it isn't banned). You can use it, but if you have a claim against you with those herbs in the mix, it will negate the coverage. The cost is in the thousands (close to a handful). Take a deep breath. Keep in mind that this is more of a 'trial' period, and the costs CAN come down slightly if it is successful (i.e. functioning with no claims, HA!). The final reason for limiting this coverage is that if practitioners who aren't trained according to UK standards are included, claim occurrences MAY be higher, which would compromise the availability of such coverage because of heightened risk. You ALL know, insurance companies are basically legalized gambling... they aren't going to " bet " on high risk. So truly, this is to protect those of us who have been trained accordingly. Truly, I cannot jeopardize and lose this coverage because of my practice situation being within a medical practice. It is my source of survival. The doctors will not rent the space to me or refer their patients if I don't carry professional liability, so I will ask you sincerely to keep this information protected if I am to share with you... that is my only request. Many thanks, Tami sundancewellness@... Insurance > Tami, is that the " nutritional " insurance via the AHG? > Or something else? Guest guest
You need to get the NS to call or send the insurance a Form that states why they are recommending that particular drug. I still have been denied for medicines due to the doc not trying something else first. The doc may have to prove that you have already tried the other meds on thier list with no success. Hope that helps. Latrell insurance Well good evening everyone. I was on my way out of town Friday to get away from everything and try to forget how bad I hurt all the time when I got the phone call that my insurance company had denied my request for pre-approval for lyrica. They said that Lyrica didn't support the FDA guidlines. I just don't understand how that can make that decision. Well I have another appointment with my NS on August 5 so I am without medicine till then. Does anyone have any idea's what my next step should be? Thanks, Betsy
