I've been giving your question some thought and doing some research. As far as alternatives for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, the first thing that comes to mind is Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate and/or Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. In the US, Finetex sells these raw materials. For more information and suggestions, I'd contact Bob Scala Finetex 37191 Black Velvet Lane Wadsworth, IL 60083- Work: FAX: Email: bscala@... I feel quite certain that Bob would have some ideas and some suggested formulas. Next I'd review the patent literature. You can search the US Patents at: http://164.195.100.11/netahtml/search-bool.html Hope this is enough information to get you started. Guest guest
, There are many alkyl sulfates that can be used in place of SLS. The first thing to consider is that you can add ethylene oxide to an alkyl sulfate and it will increase the mildness. Instead of the sodium cation the ammonium cation is milder. That would be ammonium lauryl sulfate. You can increase the mildness by including an amphoteric or a betaine surfactant in the system. Perhaps your best resource would be to contact Henkel Corporation and request their catalog of cosmetic ingredients and surfactants. They manufacture all of the above ingredients I have just mentioned. Guest guest
Hi, So what is the opinion on Amilite GCK-12 from Ajinomoto? They say it is an anionic surfactant created from the amino acid glycine and derived from coconut fatty acid?
