Guest guest
Hello Amy et all, As I am working through doctors and asking for tests I wanted to throw out some results and numbers to see what you all think. I am going in for a colonoscopy this Wednesday as I've been having digestive issues for months and months now. While I was at the office I asked if we could look into my adrenals while he was running tests. It was a blood test--not saliva. What do you think? Cortisol, total, serum 4.8 (4-22.0 cortisal AM; 3.0-17PM) test done in the AM other tests run this day: IGA, Serum 221 (81-463) Gliadin AB (IGA) <3 (<11) Gliadin AB (IGG) 5 (<11) Adrenal AB w/RFX Negative Endomysial SCR (IGA) w/RFL Negative Should I be concerned about the cortisol? Thanks in advance for your thoughts- Colleen > > > > > > Took my heavy metal mercury test yesterday, mailed it and will > get > > the > > > results in about a week :-) > > > > > > My naturopath is thinking that if my levels are high the mercury > > has > > > settled around my thyroid gland and my body is trying to kill off > > my > > > thyroid because of the mercury hiding near my thyroid gland. > > > > > > So we'll see what the test shows, we'll begin a heavy metal detox > > and > > > see where we're at. > > > > > > Mercury poisoning is happening at an alarming rate in this > country. > > > It is not only in our mouths but in the food supply. > > > > > > Be well... > > > ~Amy~ > > > in Missouri > > > > > >
Guest guest
That cortisol looks awfully low to me, barely inside range, and that range is geared to 's Disease, the flatout failure of the adrenal gland, not just adrenal fatigue. Very low. Three of those were for Celiac, and yours shows negative. Guest guest
Hi Sol, There is no definite range that can reveal AF vs. 's - not in me anyway. I had below range morning serum cortisol; also saliva was pathetically low, too. I also had high normal ACTH. But, when I did the stim test, I passed it. Besides taking the Cortrosyn, (misspelled??) to stimulate the adrenal glands to make cortisol, which I could do. If cortisol levels don't rise after it's given, that indicates 's disease. I also done a Dexamethasone test twice,, which is meant to stop ACTH production, which it did - so Cushing's was ruled out as well. We all react differently so therefore I don't think your question can be specifically answered without testing.
