If there's a place could redeem Christianity for me this is it. The carving is like a shaman's dream - makes you wonder how it survived the various purges. I've visited many times, as I used to live just down the road a wee bit, and always notice something completely new. There's a tiny place nearby called Temple - yep that's right you guessed first time - the old ruined church there has some wonderful gravestones as does Greyfriars in the heart of Edinburgh. Judging by the symbols on the stones it's filled with Masons. And while we're at it we could scoot down to the Eildon hills and see the place where the Rhymer met the Queen of Fairfolk. Ach, someday perhaps a Grail. Fondly, Alyson the wee Mac.
