Hy, I'm a woman, took Cipralex for 9 months. I had the same symptoms. I have also tried some supplements without success. What seemed to help a lot is licorice root and rhodiola rosea capsules ( an adaptogen type of herb). The only problem with these supplements is that after some time they cause insomnia, that's why I stopped taking licorice, but now I'm still taking rhodiola and omega3 + gingko biloba and my state improved a lot. My libido is near the same as before taking antidepressants, genital numbness has also improved ( around 60-70%) . Hi So licorice root helped you, apparently it can also help with men even thought it raises estrogen. To: "SSRIsex " <SSRIsex > Sent: Wednesday, January 4, 2012 4:58:06 PM Subject: Re: women genital anesthesia and delayed orgasm HELP!!!!

The first day I tried licorice this feeling of depersonalization disappeared and I also had an erotic dream, however before trying it I didn't even remember for any of my dreams. It improved my libido and I think that it also helped my numbness. I cannot say that it is continuously improving, but it is sometimes bad, then after some stimulation it gets better, as if something were switched on. I don't know exactly how licorice works, but sure it has an effect on hormon levels. It seemed to help me, but stopped taking it because it is not advisable to take it for more that 3-4 weeks and it caused me high-blood pressure ( my nose was bleeding). So I switched to rhodiola, both are good for chronic fatigue. I started to notice changes after a week with this supplement. Now I have some very good sexual experiences

Hi Bettina Does the rhodiola help better than the Licorice with the sexual numbness. I guess depersonalization is just not being yourself, anxiety and sexual function are gone. I noticed 3 years ago when I quit paxil and recovered anxiety and sexual function returned at the same time. Then I took Lexapro which really messed me up and is worse than paxil . Man here but I read that licorice root can lower testosterone and libido. "A study that looked into the effect on licorice supplementation in men, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1999, showed that testosterone levels were reduced in those who took the licorice supplements. Further research found that 240 to 525mg of licorice root reduced testosterone by 1/3"Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/143786-how-does-licorice-root-help-lower-libido/#ixzz1ifLn47fY

Hy, I'm not sure which of them was better. The improvement started with the licorice, then it continued with the other. To: "SSRIsex " <SSRIsex > Sent: Thursday, January 5, 2012 7:53 PM Subject: Re: women genital anesthesia and delayed orgasm HELP!!!!
