Is this something that can be procurred via local chemical companies or who is the best on-line source? In cp is Tocopheryl added with the oils or at another time? Also, I'm interested in preventing rancidity in massage oil. What is the most effective additive for this? Deborah, the antioxidant is Tocopherol and it comes in liquid form. Tocopheryl is a different ingredient and as far as I know is not a antioxidant. You can add it to your oils when you heat them or you can add it when you have your oils delivered. You will need to melt your solid oils to do this. I think Columbus Foods in Chicago sells Tocopherol www.columbusfoods.com > Also, I'm interested in preventing rancidity in massage oil. What is the > most effective additive for this? BHT is probably more effective for either soap or massage oils. You may want to consider what you customers would prefer to see in your massage oils though. I use BHT in soap, but Tocopherol in massage oils. Pat. Peace, Joy, Serenity House of Scents tm.
