Guest guest
What about coconut oil? I have not found MediHoney to be useful in treating milk blisters/blebs. Dee Kassing So, I need some help on what to do with a stubborn milk blister. Mom has tried olive oil on a cotton ball, white vinegar on a cotton ball, and tweezers. She has had it for a week. It doesn't look infected to me. Any other ideas? At what point does she go to see her dr or dermatologist? Thanks so much!!!Warmly,Robin Kaplan, M.Ed., IBCLCSan Diego Breastfeeding Center
Guest guest
Try raw potato. Either cut in very thin slices or grate it and place on bleb. Moms have told me it works. Sent from my iPad
Guest guest
Does she have a plugged duct with the milk blister ? Recently, we have seen good results with ultrasound treatment of plugged duct. When the plugged went away, so did the milk blister. Information on ultrasound on Dr. Jack Newman’s website. Guest guest
I'm new to this list, but I just finished helping a mom with a persistent bleb (over 1year persistent). If it lasts much longer than that week, try finding the underlying cause, TT, poor latch, this mom needed to take a pretty large dose of lecithin for a while along with treating for a low-grade bacterial infection. This mom did those things along with coconut oil to keep it soft and then Epsom salt soaks, and it finally resolved to the point that she could nurse without pain.
