Morning Maree...

Yes still off the dreaded durries! I think I feel better. I must say, seven weeks ago there is no way I would have ever dreamed that I would be of the fags... Or going to the gym, or not eating huge amounts of food. I gave up most of my food intake with my little friend as I call him (as in Bandaras), and I gave up the cigarettes completely cold turkey! I was concerned about the gum cause my friend Rob gave them up 10 years ago and is still chewing the gum and has had to have $10,000 worth of dental work. The doc reckons he might as well have stayed on the ciggies as he will probably end up with mouth cancer rather than lung cancer!!!!

I am back on the grog, unfortunately, but I limit myself to weekend drinking only. So, I gave up so much!!! No wonder I have been a biatch and unhappy with everything. Oh well, it can only get better.

How are you going lovie... hope things are ok and that you are enjoying the break... it may not last. Will see you tomorrow for a bit at the lunch.

Congrats so far with the ciggies, keep up the great work there! Its hard not to replace one addiction with another. I have food back again, but I am sure once I get that issue under control it will be back to shoes and accessories….

DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER!!! i.e. don't take this as a bashing or an accusation in any way my sweet – but… I was reading in some leaflets that I was given at Curves last night that alcohol slows weight loss - "Alcohol inhibits weight loss. This is because your body burns alcohol before it burns its other energy sources. So whilst there is alcohol to burn it won't burn fat. Better alcoholic choices are red wine or spirits and diet soft drink. Low alcohol or low carb beer such as `Blonde' are available for beer drinkers"

Also – they have a diet that they say you can loose 2kg per week average in the first few weeks. You have to make an appointment to talk to the staff or they have a weight loss class. It's a high protein/ low carb diet. Might be worth a looksy, I am going to make enquiries for myself tomorrow when I go to the gym, before I go to sweet belem for my long black and pastry, quite sure that wont be on the diet menu, tee hee.

Yes... I know the alcohol issue with weight loss... it's a bugger I say! I have limited myself back to only drinking on weekends, and I do stick to red wine and the vodka in V8... but I can't have those diet sodas, or any thing with the artificial sweetner... they give me dreadful migranes. So, red wine and vodka & V8 will have to do me for my weekend drinks. I will never drink white again... it is really bad for us!

I have given up a lot as I said before, so maybe my body is just totally confused. It will be ok... I know it will. I am having the optifast bars for breakfast as well, they are not really that tasty, but they have all sorts of good stuff in them, so they must be a good start to the day. The other thing is, if I can eat one of those whilst driving to my local coffee shop 10 mins away to meet the girls, I must need a fill...

I love the idea of going to Curves, followed by the coffee & pastry, now that is what I call a workout!!

I am sure you are doing all you can, I am just as perplexed as you are why you are not getting any results. I will give you the run down on what the diet is from Curves that offers such results - sounds like a doozie to me. But I am willing to try anything you know.

Yes, well to me you have to have a treat and the coffee and pastry is mine for the week. It makes it easier with the mental argument to not have the ice cream and chocolates that I might be tempted to stay on to, he he.

I meant to add in my previous post to you, make sure that treats you well. That was the same name as I had for my first band - he wasn't for me. This time, tiger is being better behaved but then he hasn't been tested too much just yet.

Hi Mel

Hope you don't mind me sticking my beak in but if you're going for a

coffee maybe you'd benefit more from the bar after you've had your

drink. Otherwise the liquid is flushing the food through the band

and you're not getting the full benefit of solids and the band.

Regards
