You might have low zinc which would cause the thyroid to slow down and be under-active (hypothyroidism). Zinc speeds up the thyroid, while copper slows it down. IIRC you have low testosterone which would be another sign of low zinc. Zinc will likely increase testosterone and speed up your thyroid.
