Guest guest
Funny you should ask... I had an annoying sore throat for weeks and treated it with saline gargles, lozenges at work and just toughing it out. The doc just said it looked red but offered no other suggestion. I had thought possibly it was attributable to all my MDI usage (flovent, serevent and ventolin HFA) but he didn't think so. One miraculous day the soreness vanished only to have this horrible hoarseness appear. I'd lost my voice before from incessant coughing but had no cough this time. I was just relieved to have gotten rid of the sore throat! After 10 days of this going on, the speech therapist at work questioned me- thought perhaps I was a smoker (heaven forbid!) and after having me try to make some sounds (at which I failed miserably) expressed her concern that I may have a paralyzed vocal cord. At her urging I am now trying to coordinate an appointment with the ENT and speech pathologist for testing... If that doesn't work I'm going to sing with Rod ... > > Subject: asthma vs vocal cord dysfunction > I went for a follow-up with my pulminologist recently and he brought up> something> which quite of made me curious.
