Hi Trish,

I've been going on the assumption that we are welcome to do both on this

list. Actually, I think that either one without the other would get a bit

tedious. I had a great teacher in my counselor training when I was

struggling to understand APA writing style that taught me that the most

interesting writing, and conversation for that matter is when we intersperse

our own ideas with that of the teachings we are discussing. What interests

me is how people make meaning of the material we share with one another and

integrate it into their lives. Otherwise we can all just read the material

on our own. It is the dance between the personal and the universal, the

experiential and the theoretic that makes connecting with others on this list

so valuable.
