Guest guest
Dear Colleagues: Lieberman, in her report of 1203 dyads, discovered that babies whose mothers had had a fever over 101 in labor, had an increased chance of having a seizure. Moms with epidurals were more likely to have seizures. There is another study, looking at 2.2 million births in California, that also discovered an association between epidural and neonatal seizures. Perhaps the baby in the " Sudden Onset Breast Pain " story had a seizure from a maternal fever in labor over 101? Do neonatologists even consider that possibility? warmly, Nikki Lee
