Guest guest
Hi folks, need some advice here. I've managed to get myself into a potential pickle I made some stock gel solution using 2% carbomer, 1% germaben II, and managed to make my first mistake with the amount of tetrasodium EDTA... My digital scale had a fit & I think I ended up adding .4% instead of the recommend .1% I've seen elsewhere. Then, instead of dissolving the EDTA (I think I forgot to put my brain in this morning!), I added it straight to the carbomer/water mixture. Now, is this stuff still useable? I was planning on using this stuff in a 50% stock gel solution to 50% water when I expermented with gel formulations... an interesting side effect is that this stock gel solution gives off shocks! (Hmmm, electric gel? If I add 50% warm water, will this properly dissolve the EDTA? Not sure what to do here... sigh. thanks for any advice! cheers, .
